Guest Speaker : Nigel Brothers - Backyard Daintree Mangrove Science

Nigel Brothers was a long-serving Tasmanian Parks Service wildlife management officer and that included the privilege of long stints on Sub - antarctic Macquarie island which also lead to frequent visits to Antarctica. He has authored many scientific publications including the book 'Tasmania's Offshore Islands: Seabirds and Other Natural Features'. Nigel remains involved at an international level improving longline fishing methods and the consequent preservation of seabirds especially albatross. He now lives in Douglas Shire where his current environmental interests include ‘Backyard Daintree Mangrove Science’, the topic of his talk at the DSSG 2020 AGM.
